Sweet & Spicy Buffalo Bacon-Wrapped Sausages

They may be small, but these bite-sized appies are packed with sweet and spicy flavors. Easy, yet delicious, they are perfect for entertaining!

Ingredients

  • 1 lb. Hot Scott Pete Polish Sausage (5 sausages)
  • 1/2 c. butter
  • 1/2 c. cayenne hot pepper sauce
  • 2 Tbsp. white vinegar
  • 4 tsp. brown sugar
  • 2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 tsp. garlic powder
  • 1 1/2 lbs. bacon
  • 32 gherkins, for garnish
  • 2 Tbsp. chives, chopped

Directions

Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. Line baking sheet with parchment paper; set aside.

In a small saucepan set over medium heat, melt together butter, hot pepper sauce, vinegar, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce and garlic powder; cook for 2 to 3 minutes or until sugar has dissolved and mixture is smooth.

Cut bacon into 2-inch strips (you should have 32 pieces). Cut sausages into bite-size pieces (you should have 32 pieces). Wrap bacon around sausage pieces; arrange seam side down on prepared baking sheet. Brush with brown sugar sauce to coat well. Bake for 15 to 20 minutes or until bacon is golden and crispy.

Transfer to serving tray; garnish with gherkins and chives. Serve with remaining sauce for dipping.

Tip: Substitute Hot Beef Polish Sausage for Hot Polish Sausage if desired.
